The USMA offers two awards on an annual basis. These awards were previously sponsored by the Blake Family Foundation. Since 2017, winners are announced in the USMA’s newsletter Metric Today. The next award offering cycle will open in January 2025 when an online application process will open.

- Two awards are available: 1) the National Metric Scholarship Award and 2) the National Metric Award. Funding for these awards is provided by USMA’s Eastern Director Dr. Don Jordan and other metric advocates in an effort to increase metric awareness and usage in the US.
- All judging and final decisions of awards (expected ) are the sole responsibility of the USMA.
- Only awardees will be contacted by email. All other applicants are encouraged to visit the USMA website to view the award status.
- A National Metric Award first place winner is not eligible for two consecutive award years.
- Winners and the top finalists will receive free USMA membership for one year, which includes the Metric Today newsletter.
- USMA award announcements and promotions will include the winners’ names and cities.
- AI written award essays are not permitted and will disqualify the application.

National Metric Scholarship Award
Win a $2500 scholarship to be applied to tuition payments for a two- or four-year undergraduate degree. Second place winners will receive $1000.

- All US high school senior students are eligible to apply for the USMA National Metric Scholarship Award.

National Metric Award
Win a $500 award for non-students. Applicants may include US government, K-12 education, academia, and industry professionals. Second place winners will receive $250.
- Eligibility
- US residents are eligible to apply for the USMA National Metric Award. High school seniors should not apply for this award.
